being vegan in France: story time
Ep 10: Introducing you to Indian breakfasts – Mooli paratha
If you couldn’t tell already, I’m a paratha girl. I can’t get enough of it. So enjoy this little story of the struggles of being vegan in a meat+dairy loving country while I make a classic Punjabi breakfast: mooli paratha. Its a spices white radish stuffed flatbread that is literally the taste of winters in Punjab. I love it and I’m sure you will love it too!
Btw, I repeat, if you cook for yourself, you can easily survive in France. Vegan alternatives are accessible and the produce from farmer’s market is of top-notch quality! But eating out is a pain in the butt. If you don’t live in one of the major cities (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice), it will be hard.
For rmooli/radish filling:
* 1 white radish, (mooli, daikon), large
* 1-2 green chili peppers, finely chopped
* 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
* 1 tsp cumin powder
* 1 tsp garam masala
* salt, to taste
* oil for cooking
